Liebherr R Series Excavators — Large Construction Class (R 945–R 980)

• R 945 / R 950: Large production excavators at approximately 100,000–110,000 lbs. These machines require heavy multi-axle RGN equipment, full oversize and overweight permits in every state transited, and typically require rear escort vehicles as mandated by state law. Bridge weight clearances must be verified on all routes, including Interstate highways.
• R 960 / R 970: High-production construction excavators at approximately 130,000–155,000 lbs. In this weight class, state DOT advance notification or conditional approval is required in some states before transport can begin. Liebherr R 9000 Series Mining Excavators

Liebherr Crawler Dozers (PR Series)

Liebherr crawler dozers — the PR series — are built in Germany and are known for their hydrostatic drives, which eliminate conventional torque converters and provide smooth, fuel-efficient pushing power. The PR series is common on landfill operations, highway construction, and large site development projects:

• PR 716 / PR 726: Compact crawler dozers at approximately 37,000–54,000 lbs. RGN or flatbed transport; permit requirements are comparable to a mid-size excavator in the same weight class.
• PR 736 / PR 746: Mid-size production dozers at approximately 68,000–93,000 lbs. Standard oversize and overweight permits required in all states. Wide track configurations common on soft-ground applications may increase overall machine width, affecting permit category.
• PR 756 / PR 776: Large Liebherr dozers at approximately 120,000–165,000 lbs. These machines require heavy multi-axle RGN equipment, full oversize and overweight permits, and rear escorts in most states. The PR 776 is one of the largest crawler dozers in the Liebherr lineup and approaches R 9000 territory in terms of transport complexity.

Liebherr Wheel Loaders (L Series)

Liebherr wheel loaders range from compact machines used in urban construction and recycling to large L 586 loaders found in quarry and port operations. Most Liebherr wheel loaders transport well on RGN trailers, with the bucket or forks removed and stowed separately:
