Bulldozers
Bulldozers are critical for earthwork, grading, and site clearing on construction projects. They move between projects less frequently than excavators — dozers tend to stay on a project through its earthwork phase — but the moves that do happen are often time-critical because the dozer is needed at the new site before grading can begin.
Mid-size dozers in the 50,000 to 80,000 pound range — Cat D7, D8, Komatsu D85, D155 — transport on RGN trailers with overweight permits. Large dozers above 100,000 pounds — Cat D9, D10, D11, Komatsu D275, D375 — require multi-axle RGN or lowboy configurations, overweight permits, and often overwidth permits for the blade. Motor Graders
Motor graders are essential for fine grading and surface preparation on highway construction, airfield projects, and large site developments. Their long wheelbase and extended moldboard blade create transport challenges: most large graders — Cat 14M, 16M, Komatsu GD655, GD825 — must have the blade removed or tucked to reduce transport width and length, and the blade must travel as a separate load. Cranes for Construction

Concrete Equipment
Concrete construction — from structural pours on high-rise buildings to concrete pavement on highway projects — generates consistent heavy haul volume. The equipment categories include:
- Mobile concrete batch plants: Portable concrete plants that produce ready-mix on the job site for large projects. A complete mobile batch plant with aggregate storage bins, cement silo, and mixer drum can involve 6 to 15 individual loads. The aggregate bins and storage hoppers are often the widest components — 14 to 16 feet — requiring overwidth permits.
- Concrete pump trucks and placing booms: Large truck-mounted boom pumps — such as the Schwing 47X or Putzmeister M52-6 — weigh 80,000 to 100,000 pounds with boom folded and may approach overweight permit territory even without a load on the boom. Stationary concrete pumps for very large pours are transported on standard or step-deck flatbeds and are typically within legal weight limits.
- Slipform pavers: Concrete slipform pavers for highway and airfield construction — Gomaco GP-4000, Wirtgen SP 64 — are among the widest pieces of construction equipment in regular highway transport, with mold widths of 12 to 16 feet or more in transport configuration. Multiple pilot cars and overwidth permits are standard for slipform paver moves.

Paving Equipment
Asphalt pavers and the milling machines that remove old pavement are core equipment for highway resurfacing and new pavement construction projects. - Start permit lead time early. For standard moves, 5 to 7 business days before the required move date is the minimum to avoid rush fees.
